APPLICATION
- To remove chlorine from solution according to the eq:
- Na2S2O3 + 8CL + 5H2O---> 2NaHSO4 + 8HCL &
- Na2S2O3 + 2HCL ---->2NaCL +H2O +S +SO2.
- As "Antichlor" in Bleaching of Paper pulp, as filter in Photograpjy, for extraction of Silver from ores, as mordant in Dyeing & Printing Textiles, Reducer in Chrome Dyeing, Manufacturing Leather, Bleaching Bone, Straw, Ivory, also as Reagent in Analytical Chemistry.
